What was your inspiration for the Price of Ambition film?

My first short film in 4 years, Price of Ambition represents not only a creative endeavor, but also a personal journey. The film is a departure from my 'guerilla films' of the past, crafted on low-budgets on the fringes. The film comes after life's twists and turns - such as a return home from NYC to Washington, DC amidst the pandemic and the expansion of my family. Now with a wealth of knowledge and renewed vigor, I set out to infuse every aspect of the film - from the score to the wardrobe - with creativity and excellence.

How long did it take to complete Price of Ambition?

Pre-production began in January 2024, with principal photography taking place in April 2024 in Washington, DC. Post production was completed in August 2024.

What was your favorite part of production?

My favorite part of the filming was collaborating with a community of diverse creators in the District and beyond. I also enjoyed filming at historical spaces emblematic of Washington, DC's rich African American cultural heritage.
